Well, if we wanted to get technical, Sasuke would really be the "I am full of angst and need overpriced but thoroughly neat looking clothes for emos and teeny-goths with which to cover my body" part of the posterboy image, but Gaara is way more fun to draw. Plus, I can mess around with his hair, unlike senor duck-butt. ...I am well aware Gaara looks like a titless girl in this. But in all fairness, so do most boys who wear this kind of stuff. *loves them* Also! With Gaara, there is no need to draw an expression. And that suits me just fine.
I haven't sat down in Photoshop and just worked for the hell of it in forever. Mind you, I still draw for my own enjoyment 24-7, but haven't been able to scan any of it in and just play for ages. I drew and inked this a day or so ago, and plan to scrap the original because I screwed up so badly on it. I had to glue on an entirely different mouth for starters. Plus, the hair is crappy in that version. I am so very very pleased with this version though. I really DID try to cell shade all of it, but don't have the familiarity with that method to get some of the more subtle effects. But still! So very fun to do, and it only took me about seven hours.
I don't know where his hands and forearms went. We can pretend they've gone on a vision quest.
It's the sex-ambiguous male thing! Woohoo! An awesome awesome job coloring. But, for effect, I'll say that he cut off his hands and forearms in depression.
GAH! It is amazing and drool worthy! My favorite part is the Zombie Maniac belt. I mean what the hell! That is so Hot Topic I could choke and die! Your shading astounds me! This looks SO professional darling! I have no idea how you have the patience for all the little details, they are wonderful!!! I could never do that. And the hair is freaking awesome! So shiney and fun!
God you rock me so hard.

Interviewer: What do you guys do after the show? go out? or put on pjs and watch tv? AJ: we shower together.
So, this guy in my art class used to work in Coldstone Creamery. And one day he told us this story about how a group of kids from school walked into the shop, and one of the girls said during their conversation (and I quote):
"Man, I don't even want any ice cream. I hate everything."
This is more emo than that. It's about one safety pin away from breaking the emo threshhold.
And you? Messing up hair? Pshaw, says I. You messing up hair is like Ben Franklin not bragging about how cool he was. It can't be done.
This really is Hot Topic in a picture! Perfect Gaara, too. Yay for emo Gaara mixed with overpriced clothing!!! The little heart hair clip is quite clever, too! Although, I do agree that Sasuke would make a better Hot Topic guy, with his dark hair and emo-y personality, but you did this Gaara so wonderfully that that doesn't matter. *heart* (lmao at your desctiption of Hot Topic people)
